We here at LCMCF embrace the principles of the Eden Alternative to eliminate the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. To make a home for our residents we include plants, animals, and children to provide companionship, variety, and spontaneity. Residents and staff alike enjoy the "home" atmosphere.

We have many cats and birds in residents' rooms if they desire. We have children visit from the day care center within the building. Several schools come regularly to put on programs and visit with the residents. Staff helps with the overall care of the animals but residents are encouraged to help as well. Residents may also bring in houseplants.

The Master Gardeners have planted a beautiful garden on the premises which residents, staff, and visitors enjoy.
