As part of our Culture Change Initiative, Lapeer County Medical Care Facility strives to provide person centered care that promotes wellness. These things include plants, animals and children which provide companionship variety and spontaneity. Residents and staff alike enjoy the “home” atmosphere. We have an active committee called “Our House” which conducts “Town Hall Meetings”. These meetings are attended by residents and staff where ideas are exchanged, fundraisers are discussed and equipment and events are decided.



We have many cats, and birds, located throughout the building. We have children which visit from our own day care center located in our building. Staff are responsible for the overall care of the plants and animals, but residents are encouraged to help as well.

The Master Gardeners have planted a beautiful garden on the premises which residents, staff, and visitors enjoy.
